My friends accounts were both permentally banned..

Last week my friend got on his account to find that on each one of his toons the armor had been stripped off his money was gone and all his weapons.
he immediately goes to his other account to find the same case cept that account had been suspended for 71 hours.

in the process of trying to contact ANET about the matter he found that both of his accounts had been banned. And finally got through to ANET.

Found out that his account had been used to sell gold from while it was hacked.

The response he got back from ANET was that they can't prove it wasn't him doing it. I have played with this guy for more then 7 months. I know that he doesn't do those sorts of things. Day in and day out he hunts for things to sell to the merch to make money for his elite armors and weapons.

7 months of work on 2 accounts is now down the drain. And he has to start all over again with a new game. I think all hackers should be strung up by their toes and beaten.

Doing a better job of changing passwords regularly and virus scanning your PC is a good way to stop that sort of thing.

yea I do that on a weekly basis.. can't say the same for everyone else virus scans spyware scans and PW changes .... :-)

I guess cause he never visits the sites that would cause him grief he thought he was ok...

8 members of my guild have just been banned for what reasons i dont know of. as far as im aware they havent done anything wrong, i pretty much formed the guild and they were all friends...

I never change my password but my scanner scans my computer every 24 hours at 2 am

What can we do?

On GWG, you can find message boards to discuss major events and other subjects regarding the game.

Unbanning of accounts isn't offered here though :/

Very few things in life "just happen" - your friend must have visited a website or otherwise downloaded something to get his info, access his account, and strip it to the bone. Never download any programs or mods that claim to be add ons or hacks to the game, and stay away from gold sites or any place that asks for your GW log on info...
